SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 5 -- The Overs tock.com(R) (Nasdaq: OSTK) (www.overstock.com)
Web site experienced heavy congestion intermittently between noon and
2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time today as holiday shoppers flooded the
site to purchase the just-released "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's
Chest" DVD at a special promotional price. As a result, some customers
were unable to access the site.
In May 2006, Overstock.com received a subpoena from the SEC,
requesting information about the company's accounting policies as well
as its communications regarding naked short selling. |
